The IOHA Biennial Awards

Honoring Excellence in Oral History

What are the awards?

The International Oral History Association (IOHA) recognizes outstanding contributions to oral history through three awards which celebrate excellence in multimedia projects, individual achievements, and scholarly publications.

These biennial awards highlight the transformative impact of oral history in research, education, and cultural preservation. The awards are open to oral historians working in any field, across community, academia, or media professions. The award winners are responsible for oral history productions that are innovative, excellent and inspirational.

IOHA introduced the biennial awards in 2021, with the inaugural winners announced at the XXI IOHA Conference.
