Programs for new OHA members and meeting attendees

If you are new to OHA or attending your first annual meeting, you have an opportunity to sign up for the OHA mentoring program when you register by August 15. You will be connected to a veteran OHA member who will meet with you informally at the conference. Take advantage of this program to get connected to OHA in Madison. You are also invited to the Newcomers Breakfast, a complimentary continental breakfast on Friday morning with OHA leadership.

Conference registration rates (August 16 through October)

Oral History Association members:

  • Regular members $150
  • Student members $40
  • Become a Member $200 (registration plus $50 discounted 2015 OHA membership)
  • Become a Student Member $75 (registration plus $35 2015 OHA student membership)
  • Non-members $175

Conference Housing Options

The conference will be held at the Madison Concourse Hotel. The OHA room block is full and conference reservations are now closed. The hotel is one block from Capitol Square, so if attendees are trying to make a hotel reservation, that is the area where the meeting will be held. Please note that the weekend of our conference is a home football game for the University of Wisconsin. Reserve your hotel rooms as early as possible.

Madison has one hostel, HI-Madison Wisconsin. It is near Capitol Square and easy walking distance to the Madison Concourse Hotel. Rates vary based on room type but are very affordable.


Conference meals are on your own–the registration fee does not include meals. When you register, you will have the opportunity to sign up and pay for the two meal events OHA offers–Friday lunch with a keynote speaker and the Saturday evening awards banquet and keynote address. You may attend both events at no charge after the meal if you prefer. There are numerous affordable places to eat within walking distance of the Madison Concourse Hotel as well as a coffee shop and full restaurant in the hotel.
