Kdei Karuna Organization (KdK) is a Cambodian NGO based in Phnom Penh that works with survivors of the Khmer Rouge regime on memory, intergenerational dialogue and community-based peacebuilding. KdK has recently completed the English version of its ‘Oral History Manual’, a practical guide developed from field experience in rural Cambodia. The manual covers interview preparation, ethics and consent, trauma-sensitive interviewing, and documentation, and it is written for community facilitators and local practitioners rather than for academic researchers. It is freely available and may be of interest to colleagues working in similar post-conflict contexts.
